The ZT125A provides flexibility with two dynamic system configurations. The Manual Transmission (MT) option features a Yuchai 580hp engine paired with a Fast 8-speed manual transmission (FAST 8DS260), designed for maximum driver control and efficiency. Alternatively, the Automatic Transmission (AT) option pairs the same Yuchai 580hp engine with an FC automatic transmission (FC 6A250). Both configurations are optimized to deliver high power output (426 kW) while ensuring excellent fuel economy.

 Safety is prioritized through multiple systems, including a Hydraulic retarder, an engine exhaust brake, and a reliable dual-circuit braking system. Structurally, the truck uses a high-strength full-penetration welded box-type frame with an enlarged cross-section, which is crucial for handling the 85-ton rated payload.
